Welcome to The Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm, Sweden.Once the home of Walther and Wilhelmina von Hallwyl. When the couple wanted to build their own house on No 4 Hamngatan it was natural to include stables in the design. The architect Isak Gustaf Clason drew an interior that followed the standard of the day and the equipment was bought from Bolinder’s mechanical factory. The horses were sold in 1908 but Wilhelmina von Hallwyl decided to keep the interior “to save an image of the stables in its original state, to a certain degree”.
