The T6-1 prototype, first flown in June 1967 is a fixed-wing aircraft (but with very special wingtips) as opposed to the production Su-24 that featured variable geometry wings. Furthermore this prototype has 4 RD-36-35 lift engines in the fuselage to give the aircraft STOL characteristics.
