St Ives Volunteers Coat

Scarlet officer’s coatee of about 1790 period. Neither sleeve is original,these being made of finer cloth, and machine stitched. Yellow facings, showing principally at the collar and lapels. Short tails with white triangular turnbacks. Silver or pewter buttons. Silver lace with black stripe. Front opening falls in pronounced curve outwards from throat. Lapels of yellow cloth, outside edges of lapels edged with silver and black lace as above. Ten silver buttons in each lapel, set in pairs, with lines of yellow cord running from each button towards the centre. Two sets of hooks and eyes about 1/3 of the way down from the collar.This item originates from the collection at Bodmin Keep Musuem, Cornwall, UK. The model was created by Purpose3D.
