This project is very close to my heart. I have studied in Fukuoka for 2 times and during those times, this restaurant was the place to go. Having THE BEST Japanese-style Chicken in the world for cheap (important for me as a student), I went there multiple times a week. However, last year I heard that the building will be demolished because it’s too old. This is why I wanted to capture this building in 3D, together with my favorite dish.This was a massive undertaking. I’ve used many pictures and every available angle of the building on Google Maps (thank you, streetview!) to model this as close as possible and handpainted the rest in, all in Blender. It took about 5 months to complete in total, but I’m proud to be able to send this to the owners of Inakaya and have them remember their restaurant (which was 40 years in business last year) for years to come.
