Guennol Lioness

guennol lioness 3d model

SculptJanuary18: Day 21: Ancient. The Guennol Lioness. It’s a 5,000-year-old Mesopotamian statue found near Baghdad, Iraq. Depicting a muscular anthropomorphic lioness-woman, it sold for $57.2 million at Sotheby’s auction house on December 5, 2007 (it was the highest price paid for a sculpture to that date). The historical significance of this limestone sculpture of 8cm tall, Elamite figure created circa 3000-2800 BC is that it is thought to have been created at approximately the same time as the first known use of the wheel, the development of cuneiform writing, and the emergence of the first cities. You can download the file in .blend format (the software I used) and the STL ready for 3D print (the size is 8cm tall, exactly like the original figure, but obviously you can scale it to any other size).
