Earth federation ship Eriksson is a lightly armed forward colony and outpost deployment ship. While it’s built towithstand landing in low-gravity environments, it generally stays safely in orbit and lets the two Vanguard landing rockets do the dirty work of getting to the surface first, before sending out it’s massive fleet of transport craft stored in the four main hangars. The ship only has room for 1500 active passengers but supplements this with 2500 cryochambers. Still, it’s relatively small size limits it to only forming an initial outpost on a planet, which requires follow-up from larger craft. The lack of size makes it quicker and more agile, and its weapons enable it to support its escort ships. This makes the ship ideal for wartime strategical colonization or breaching hostile systems.
