Fictional design of a Mach 3+ supersonic cold war interceptor, designed as a response to a rival nation’s fleet of supposed atom bombers. Rapid take-off is achieved with JATO bottle rockets and weapons are stored internally. A deployable periscope is used during landing and takeoff for better aerodynamics.Inspired originally by the unbuilt Republic Aviation XF-103 “Thunderwarrior” interceptor and several cold-war era cruise missiles.
