HistoriaEl edificio que originalmente fue la sede del hotel Crillón, por entonces uno de los más lujosos de la ciudad, fue construido entre 1927 y 1930 por la “Compañía Italiana de Construcciones”, por el arquitecto italiano Pedro Fontana con decoraciones del escultor italiano Emilio Soro Lenti. Luego del cierre del hotel, el local fue ocupado por la Empresa Cantonal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de la ciudad. En octubre de 2002, el Municipio de Guayaquil lo adquirió a la Junta de Beneficencia para que funcionen varias oficinas municipales.
