1942 khaki battle dress blouse. This new style of jacket was developed for better manouverabillity with the increased introduction of motorised vehicles to the military. There are 2 hook and eye fastenings on the collar of the jacket with 5 metal buttons running down the right-hand side of the jacket. There are 2 pockets on either breast fastened with a plain button. On the top of either sleeve is a Cornwall badge in red, and directly brlow is a blue patch with a yellow dragon detailing. There is a slight spot of discoloration on the bottom of the breast pocket on the right- this almost looks like some sort of bleach stain. Inside the jacket is a label that reads “Battledress Blouses, Serge. Size no 6.” And the date stamp is June 1942.This item originates from the collection at Bodmin Keep Musuem, Cornwall, UK.
