An artist nook in an old Victorian house. I wanted to give it a cozy fall evening feel, as if the artist had just stepped away for a moment and her cat had settled into her chair. I also love the idea of an artist who really loves plants (and can grow them, unlike myself), so her space is filled with houseplants. Some screens and progress shots on ArtStation: https://bit.ly/2Dfcjm1This piece gave me a chance to practice handpainting textures and to be a bit more organized and efficient with my maps. I used a combination of traditional UV maps, tiled textures and a gradient texture for smaller items like the books. I started with an idea of a highly stylized diorama but my painting became more realistic over time, so the end result is a bit uneven in the details. I am happy with the overall effect of the diorama and am excited to do more handpainting in the future.
