Legion command is particularly concerned with maintaining its technological superiority. One of the main challenges was the need to replace the obsolete project ‘Iron Harpy’. After learning about the development of the Army project ‘Hydra’, Legion design bureau sped up work in this area, and in the end it produced a frigate that showed excellent results during tests. It was taken into service under callsign Invincible Legion GF-17 ‘Hydra 2’. Nevertheless, the frigate was quite expensive, so for a long time the Legion squadrons were made up of different ships.
