Virtual reality in situ experience of Ege Carpets’ custom designed carpet installed into the Kaikoura Museum (by Pearson & Associates Architects), in New Zealand. Click here to view the NZIA’s photographic profile of the project. The carpet design was created with satellite and topographical imagery, supplied by NIWA, of Kaikoura’s landscape, coastline, and ocean floor to create a figurative textile representation of the geography. In this digital carpet showroom space, I have inserted the 8.20 by 10.70 metre Ege Carpet custom design pattern to the correct scale for an immersive virtual reality experience. Ege Carpet is supplied into New Zealand by Irvine Flooring.
