Boer War Khaki Drill Jacket

Five medium DCLI brass buttons down front, one on each breast pocket and one on each shoulder strap. Brass bugle horn and Cornwall on each shoulder strap, brass ‘One and All’ collar badges on the stand collar which is hooked with two brass hooks. Queen’s South Africa ribbon and gold Serjeant’s chevrons on right upper arm. Khaki drill trousers to match. Belonging to Serjeant George, a Cornishman from Mylor, first served with 1st Battalion DCLI and saw action in the Tirah Campaign (1897/8, in modern day Pakistan). He moved to 2nd Battalion and served with them through the Boer War.This item originates from the collection at Bodmin Keep Musuem, Cornwall, UK. The model was created by Purpose3D.
