A vintage 1964 blonde Fender Bassman piggyback amp. This is one of the rare transitional models, which features largely brownface circuitry and cosmetics with a black faceplate. This amp also features the desirable 6G6-B circuit, popularized by Brian Setzer. There are a couple of changes, namely the output transformer and speaker. Fortunately the ouput was replaced with an original Schumacher 125A13A, manufactured in late 1962. This transformer would have been pulled from a 1962 or 1963 Blonde Bassman, so it is identical to the original output transformer. The replacement speaker is a 1969 Oxford 12T6, which could have been pulled a pull from a higher-powered ‘69 Fender amp or could have been an OEM replacement for a blown original speaker. All other changes constitute routine mantainance, like new filter capacitors and a grounded power cord for electrical safety.
